Walking in Shoes.

Orion hasnt been walking very long now. He's doing great with it, but he mostly walks in bare feet and socks.
DH is worried if we dont put shoes on him now, he wont learn to walk in them. Is this a valid concern? I figured it was good for him to learn to walk shoeless first, and then master the shoe later.

you're right, kids need to feel the groud their walking on at first, I've heard it helps with balance.

I don't know if it's a wives tale.. but I was told that babies should do most of their walking barefoot or in soft sole shoes because their feet won't form correctly walking in hard shoes.....something about balance*shrug* I don't know if that has ANY truth but they have these awesome all leather soft slip on shoes (forgot the brand) you can get them at target...kinda pricey but they're great "first" walking shoes!

It is best to let them walk with out shoes. If you are going out and let him walk outside then I would use shoes like Pedipeds or stage 1's from stride ritejust incase he steps on a rock or glass. I wanted untill my daughter had been walking for a few mos before I bought her stage 2 shoes from stride rite (hard soles but felixable)

I made a post titled shoes in here somewhere Lol. Anyways a lot of girls suggested some good soft sole shoes! Like Roobez or Pedi peds or w/e they are called haha. I havent got any yet but they seem to be the best bet.
