I've got a week to make this baby come out!!!

posted 25th Aug
So YESTERDAY was my due date...no surprise I'm still carrying around my little bundle of joy...and today was my doc appointment.

This is my second child, yet I am only 1cm and only 30% effaced gosh darnit!!

My doc told me she needs to induce me before too long since my ultrasounds taken early are most likely the most accurate +/- 5 to 7 days...and the coinsiding due dates are Aug. 22nd-28th...so she wants me to start pitocin on Tuesday the 2nd in the morning...

Not so excited since I really wanted to try once again for a natural birth (no drugs) and had a horrible time with induction last time...

So needless to say...I want this baby to come...and soon.

Natural induction really doesn't work huh??

Did your doc try the membrane stripping? Worked for me with both my babies!

Well, she did a little something today...my yucky discharge (which she said was my uterus thinning out) is tinged with blood so at least that's something I guess!!

I think that's the membrane stripping. Sticking her fingers up you kind painful... Has there been any blood in your discharge after that? I lost my plug for a couple weeks, but once I got blood in it I went into labor within a couple days. Membrane stripping worked within 24 hours for me. Some it doesn't work at all though.

ETA--- Lots of labor dust to you!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe just a wives tale, but I've heard that if you use all natural aromatherapy oils like Jasmine oil, Eucalyptus oil, stuff like that, it will trigger labor. The only reason I remember that, is I opened a Christmas gift that my friend had gotten me 3 months later on Leap Day, and it was a Jasmine aromatherapy set. Inside that set, was some pure jasmine oil. I had never smelled it before, and I thought it smelled so pretty so I put some on my wrists so that I could lay in the breeze and sniff it, it just felt perfect for the beautiful spring day we were having. Well, half hour, I lost my mucus plug, and about 15 minutes or so after that, I went into labor. Never thought much of it till I read an article with my 2nd child talking about "Stay away from aromatherapy oils unless you are past 36 weeks,, as they can trigger labor" I figured "Good to know". I guess its worth a shot if there's no sucess with having sex. the sperm acts as a cervical ripener.

There really isn't a whole lot that you can really do on your own but walking and sex does seem to help when it comes to moving your progress along, if it doesn't than it is always fun trying and enjoy the sex now because it willbe a while before you can have it again. That would really be my only suggestions, other than that just wait and see what happends. Good luck and I hope that your labor moves along quickly!

I just googled it, and it says high concentrated versions of these oils in accupuncture sites, which I think wrists are some. I'm fond of the jasmine, though, smells so pretty!

Thank you! Yes, I made the call today on my way home from the doc to my man that we had to have a lot of sex in the next few days!! It's Doctor's orders!!!   Afterall, it might take a prescription for him to want to do that now!!!!

good luck mama! I'd take an induction over naturally going into labor any day. way less painful (at least in my case) and sooo much easier.

**Tons of easy labor dust!***
