Diaper Rash nightmare

My daughter is 13 months old and for the past few weeks she's had this horrible diaper rash that comes and goes. Today, its really bad...her bum is raw. I have been using penatin cream and "butt paste". Nothing is helping. She screams bloody murder every diaper change.

What could be causing this rash to come and go? Some days she'll have it, some days she won't. Some days she has it at one diaper change, the next diaper change its gone...and some days are really bad and some aren't.

I thought maybe I could be giving her too much fruit...mayeb too much acid? She is also teething but I can't see how a diaper rash would come and go like this from teething...can it?

I've looked...everything looks normal inbetween there...if it was a yeast infection, it would be a little white, wouldn't it?

hmmm...that does remind me, she has been scratching down there quite a bit everytime i take off her diaper.

also just for your information dont take a bath with your baby you will get the infection... i did and it sucked

my daughters like that too, everyother day she either has a rash or she dosent..its been like that since like 8months..ahes now 16mth, my docter gave me this diaper rash cream that workes wonders(I dont use it every day, I read it "may" thin out the skin) but all the cream is, hydrocortozone cream and monostate mixed together, so instead of renewing my script. I just make my own. it works fine with her, and now she dosent get rashers half as bad as she use to. if you do deccide to try it, just use the cream and nothing elts, plus try to let you little one run around nakes once and awhile, to dry out down there...that helps too..and lots of diaper changes too..

My daughter had a really bad rash when she was younger. I took her to the doctor and he said it could have been that I changed her brand of diapers (were using pampers, but someone gave us some huggies, so we started on those. He told us to switch back to the pampers). Also, he said that it could have been the wipes that were causing it. Wipes can actually get a baby too clean and dry them out too much. He said to use a washcloth or wet paper towels. We did that for awhile, but it got old, so we started using the sensitive wipes and she hasn't had a bad rash since. If you can't get her rash to go away by changing her diapers/wipes, you may want to take her to the doctor...or maybe do that anyway, just to be safe. I hope things get better soon.
