Any mucous that comes out green is worth asking a doctor, because it can signal an infection. My mucus plug was always either clear or clear with light brownish blood streak. I'd get it checked out.

green is an infection .. maybe see a doctor. the mucos plug is kinda bloody and when mine fell out it was a huge glob ... kinda bloody and looked like tissue .. basically just really sick and yeah.

Your blood was brownish? I called my doctor because mine was bright red.. he didn't seem concerned but I didn't know it was supposed to be brown! That kinda scares me

Im a first time mom....
Someone explain to me exactly what a mucous plug is....
This is different from your water breaking right?
When should you lose it?
I research and study everything to do with pregnancy but I haven't indulged in this one yet, lol...I'd sure appreciate it if someone could explain it to me!
Thanks...

I think it just covers the cervix which is closed anyways to help prevent infection from getting into the uterus to the baby... not sure but thats what I think
