transvaginal ultrasound

posted 25th Aug
This is probably a REALLY stupid question, but whatever: are they able to detect the heartbeat through a transvaginal ultrasound?  If so, do you think it would be too early for them to detect one?  I get one on Wednesday and I am just wondering....I really, really want to hear it, haha.

How far along are you????? That will really determine hearing the heartbeat with the vaginal ultraound.. I was 10 weeks when I had mine and we heard it.. Hope you get to!

They should be able to see the baby's heart beating. That's the way it was with me. I couldn't hear it, but could see it on the screen, and she recorded the movements for a while and told me the BPM.

Well, that's the reason for the ultrasound...I don't know the exact day of my last period (somewhere between July 5-7) so she's sending me to get an ultrasound to determine the age, but I'm around seven weeks.

I was nine weeks when I had mine. Depends on how far along you are though - If they don't have a heartbeat yet, it's too early.... Hearing it was cool, but even better was just watching it on the screen...

I kept telling the doc "I wanna see it again!" He cooperated for about five minutes.... then when I left the room I started crying 'cause I couldn't see it anymore!

I was able to hear my little one's heartbeat on the transvaginal ultrasound at 8w6d. I think it has to do with the type of machine they use.

A heartbeat can be detected on ultrasound at about 7 weeks (see not hear) and about 13 weeks (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong), it can be heard through a doppler.

It looks like a blob with a pulse in the middle at 7 weeks.

I don't think you'll be able to see or hear it tomorrow, honestly =[
