Question for Asian Mommas

My doc told me that the average gestational period for Asian mothers is 38 weeks. I'm hoping against hope that there is some truth to this. I'm antsy 

So how many weeks did you carry?

what does you being asian have to do with it?

I haven't given birth, but if it helps any my Mom had all 3 of us at 37 weeks.
My SIL had my Godson at 37 weeks as well.

Both of Filipino decent.

I asked the same thing. She said it's just 'one of those things', but Asian's tend to have shorter gestational periods...which is fine by me!

I am Korean and I would LOVE to have this baby at 37 weeks! I guess that I will have to wait and find out though

When I found this out I was jumping for joy!! As if I need another reason to love my Asian-ness!   I'm hoping to pop between 37 and 38 weeks too! Just a little bit longer!!

well im hoping this is true cause im already 38 weeks  

I was almost 40 weeks when I gave birth. He was 9mins early from my due date.

one of my friends just had a baby a week ago at 39 weeks. she's half japanese.

I didn't know this. I'll have to ask my doctor and see what she says. If it is true then my baby should be coming out any day now.   i'm close to turning 37 weeks.

It has something to do with narrow pelvis's...I hope I fall into this category too!

I'm half Filippina and had my son at 38 weeks. But I was induceddue to pre-eclampsia.
