Sicko??

Has anyone seen that Michael Moore movie?
I finally watched it last night...
And I'm moving out of this country... lol.
Why do most places not pay a dime for medical care, yet I was just sent to collections because I haven't paid off the bill for giving birth to my son 6 months ago?

I don't understand...

I don't even want to know.

I still owe over $2,000 in various medical bills for giving birth to my daughter, and I have $0.55 in my checking account. And all I've done this paycheck is pay bills (car payment, gas, daycare).

You do the math.

Michael Moore is an entertainer (I cringe typing that). It's not a documentary. Do you honestly think that care in Cuba is better than here?

I watched it and I agree! I also dont think cuba is better than the US but I do believe the healthcare system takes better care of its people than we do. Come on... were americans, everything is about the $$$.

I have no idea...

I also have no idea how/why we live in a country where we are able to help people/treat people, but someone stamps "denied" on their paperwork, and the people are screwed....

I honestly don't understand...

Because we aren't a socialist or communist country.

Exactly. Most of the other countries seemed to put people first... here, we put money first. Everything revolves around the mighty dollar.

Well you seen the part in europe where the tax payers money covered peoples healthcare and the drs got paid by the government and they lived nice. With drs here they make so much more screwing us just to get that extra mercedes and million dollar home.

If being a socialist country means that when my kid is diagnosed with leukemia, or I'm diagnosed with a brain tumor, someone will help me and my family, and not reject me because I don't have enough cash... well then hell...

My friends family was interviewed for that... however they didnt make the movie. Their daughter (Stacey my friend) had cystic fibrosis and there were asked to compare the canadian health care system to the american one. They said they received better care in the states because they did every treatment/test possible but they had a $90,000 bill for one week in the hospital... but up here, they don't have to pay but not everything that could possibly be done was being done.

I'm just saying that it scares me to think that if something happened to one of my babies, and they needed medical care right away, it could possibly be out of my hands to get them that care....
Yet, if someone else has a bigger bank account than I do, and their kid is sick, they can have top of the line treatment...

I don't love my babies any less, just because we're not loaded...
I can't comprehend why that should decide who gets medical treatment... who the hell are those people with their "denied" stamps to decide who is worthy of living and being treated, and who's not?

Id rather be treated as an equal to everyone in a country than to be treated like a peice of garbage all just cause I cant pay the dr $2000 for just telling me Im having ligiment pains and to go home. In china they dont see people as individuals but they see them as groups of people equal to each other true but tell me one way that our government actually sees me as an individual? Oh wait they already show me that cause they weed out the rich from the poor.
