Side effects of steriod shots

I was given two rounds of the steriod shots (to boost baby's lung growth). One last Monday and the other last Tuesday. Does anyone know any common side effects of these? Or, how long they might last? I have a HORRID taste in my mouth and am wondering if it is from the shots... I had the shots with my last pregnancy too but don't remember this... Any input would be great. THANKS!!!

yes i use to be on a steroid inhaler and it would leave a bad taste in my mouth, i hated using that thing

I had the shots with my son but don't remember that as a side effect.

i had the steroid shot but I dont remember an side effects.

I had the 2 round shot also, no side effects for me. made my babys lungs nice and healthy

Well - the doc said that any side effects of the shots would have occured within about 48 hours of recieving the shots. So, no connection. Just sharing.  

I had steroid shots in my lower back for painwhen I was about 5 weeks pregnant. (Didn't know I was pregnant.) The shots have caused marble size indentions in my back and are now a gross light blue. I was considered high risk because of these shots and had to go to a perinatal center for my 20 week ultrasound. They said steriod injections can cause deformities, especially a cleft lip. I wasn't aware they give those shots to you while pregnant to benefit the baby. Weird!

It's a different kind of steroid that's given if you become a risk for preterm labour. It's two shots of the steroid given over a 48 hour period in order to super develop the baby's lungs and give it a better chance of survival outside of the womb.
