Any advice? (Long)

posted 25th Aug
Ever since I informed my boyfriend that I was pregnant, everything has changed. He is happy, yes! But very angry lately, over the little things. I just don't understand why. Keep in mind that he is not my age, he is 31. And where I live, that gap between ages is normal, and accepted.

He tells me I complain too much, for instance, when I don't feel good in the morning. And if I'm too sick to clean the house, or do the laundry, he yells and says things like "I am so tired of doing everything!" Granted, he does help me, but he expects the house to sparkle everyday when he gets home from work. If something is lost, or he can't find it, it's my fault, without a doubt.

And this morning, he couldn't find the handle to close the window, because he takes it off at night so the fan can blow in a cool breeze. And we close the window every morning so it doesn't get hot in the house. I couldn't find it, so he started looking, and it was no where to be seen. He started getting frustrated and threw everything, and by everything, I mean the fan, the couch, the table, etc. I was trying to help, and he replied by yelling. (I ended up finding it, and no thank you was given, just anger!)

I am writing this because I don't know how to react to these situations. I used to yell, but it would never get me anywhere. So I either tell him to calm down or to sit down, and I will take care of it, and I still get the heat.

I am at my witts end. I just don't know what to do anymore, and I can't help but to cry when he leaves, because I can't take it anymore. I love him to death, but this has been happening for over a year now, and I'm at a loss for words.

Can anyone help me with how to handle this kind of situation?

Thank you....

wow.. he needs to chill! whats he going to do when the baby frustrates him?? throw a table?? you need to think about that. My ex was like that.. and no matter what I did it just didnt end. I think he needed anger management. And it sounds like your man might need it too. I dont know what to tell you. Just that that really sucks.. its so hard to be around someone who is so negative

My husbad pulled this kind of shit when I was pregnant too. Things got a lot better when I started to show. I don't think it felt "real" for him until You could visibly see that I was pregnant. Before then he thought I was just being lazy. Men are retarded

And you are right, his siblings have the same problem and are on medication for it. I just hope his anger subsides!

Ive heard people say that a woman becomes a mother the second she finds out shes pregnant. and a man starts to become eager to be a father when he finally gets to hold his baby. Idk how much truth there is in that, but i agree wit who ever said that before i started showing, the pregnancy was only real to me, but then once i started showing, my boyfriend turned into a big ol' softy and just became elated about the whole idea.. not like he wasnt excited before, but it just made it more real..and then when we finally got the ultra sound and he saw his son... it was like he was in heaven from then on.

If it's been going on for over a year, it has nothing to do with you being pregnant. He needs to talk to someone about what's going on. If he won't talk to you, I'd encourage him to talk to someone else like a counselor. And why is it your job to keep the house spotless? In your profile it says you're a sales clerk. If you're both working, he needs to do his fair share.

I agree with you 100%.

I only work on the weekends for now, and he works during the week.
