Questions for Pedi...

today im going to set up appointments to interview pedi's

what questions should i ask? im so confused. i just want to pick the first one and call it a day but i know its not that easy lol

here are some questions to ask...

If they have seperate waiting rooms/entrances for sick and well kids, if there is someone you can call after hours.

ask about buisness hours. ask if they are avalible after hours..like on call, or have a message service. make sure they are on board with your feedign choices, no matter what you decide. (the biggest problem i had was getting put on hold for hours ) so you might ask how long the average wait is when you call them on the phone also.

Ask their philosphy on vaccinations.
Ask whether they are super pro breastfeeding, of is formula feeding alright by them.
Ask about their style of treatment, are they quick to dole out meds, or do they use the less invasive approach.

There are no right or wrong answers, this will just help match a pedi to your personal beliefs.

Ask if they do same day appointments. Like if you wake up and your baby's sick, can you call and get an appointment that day.

Ooops! You'll probably get the change back in a few days! I take advantage of same day appiontments all the time. I tend to be a paranoid mommy, and I don't know what I'd do if my doctor didn't do same day appiontments. I don't like to take the kids to urgent care cause there's always more sick people there.

yeah i know im going to be calling my doctor for EVERYTHING! lol the same day appointment thing is reall big for me. i have kaiser so im pretty sure i can get a same day, but i just want to make sure!
