Perineium Tear and now something extra--TMI

OKAY SO this is sortof embarrassing but, I have to ask. I had a 2nd degree tear and am 4 weeks PP today. I still can feel my stiches BUT ---IN BETWEEN THE STITCHES AND MY VAGINA a piece of skin hangs down. I mean you can see it (it is about a 1/2 3/4 of inch long) and it is super sensitive.....IT HURTS. Has anyone experienced this???? Will my Dctr take it off , if I ask? I mean she messed up stitching me, right? I don't want my vagina to look like this and it hurts when I sit or wipe. I can't even imagine SEX....

I would imagine that to be a hemorrhoid.

call the doctor and let them know. tell them you want to be seen immediately that there is something wrong with your stitches. you should go ASAP so it doesnt heal that way.

i agree I would call your doctor, that doesn't sound right. And since it's painful I would definately call. I know it is embarassing but i'd rather get it fixed now than for it to be permanent.

I have heard of skin tags but I didn't think they were painful.

I have one too as a product of tearing. Its just inside my vagina ( Itore badly inside and out) but it shrunk with time. It hurts to mess with, but I don't feel it during sex. Mine turned out okay.

Yeah. what if you leave it, and it stays.. its going to like rub up in your underwear and stuff.. ouch

Yea, I'd go and get it looked at. If it heals that way, that would suck!

I called when I was 2 weeks and 3 weeks PP and let them now what was going on...they said it was probably part of the stitches coming off. But it definitely isn't...this is live skin

when i got my stitches there was a big ridge inbetween my butt and my vageegee.. and i thought for sure when i heled id have a big huge like sticking out ridge there.. but it went away.. it was just swollen.. i couldnt wipe either or anything..

the doctor also told me that they would look at it during my 6 weeks pp appointment in case I was still having a problem.....It pisses me off that they just blew it off like, it isn't a big deal. I am freaked out about my BF seeing it.

I had that...my was further in tho. After a couple painful attempts at sex we finally did the deed at 4 months pp cuz anything sooner just killed.and it killed every time after that. I was depressed cuz I wasthinking that this was just how sex was gonna be after a baby. I didn't know I had a tag from my episiotomy cuz I couldn't see it but at my yearly pap at about 7 months pp. my doc told my I had one and that would be why sex hurt so bad. So he sent me back to my ob who did a minor proceedure, which was a horrible experience but for different reasons, and got rid of the tag. I was back in the sac 1 month later and loving it, it was a night and day difference. So ya, it can defenitely affect sex and should be removed.

After my daughter was born.. I tore lots.. and they were stitching me up. I remember the doctor saying to me "you have a superficial tear, its going to hurt to stitch it up.. or I could just leave it to heal on its own." I asked if it would be ok to heal on its ok and he said yes.. so I said ok leave it.
WELL. I didnt know at the time that this superficial tear was a tear in one of my inner lips. And now it is no longer attached at the top. I dont really have a nicer way to put this.. but you know how the two inner lips meet at the clit? Well there.. its not attached at the clit anymore so it just flops around. It actually hangs just a little bit. And depending on the underwear Im wearing.. it rubs.. and DRIVES ME NUTS. I cant feel it all the time.. but I hate it.
AND.. I looked at it with a mirror.. and it looks weird now!!
It took me so long to get over being embarrassed about it with my boyfriend.
Stupid I know.. but still.. it doesnt look normal anymore!
