Ok here is a little trivia

I was told that I may not be able to have children if I wait too much longer due to some cancer cells that will have to be removed if it has signs of growing. I have wanted children all my life, I couldn't imagine living life without knowing what it will be like to be a mother.
My husband and I were talking about the baby one night and he asked me "if you knew our child would be the next Hitler would you still want to have it." Keep in mind this would be my only chance at having a child. I thought about it, I told him yea, I would do the best I can to raise it, I understand that how you raise the child isn't always enough, the child may still become a crazy lunatic.

What would some of you do if lets say someone from the heavens came down and told you your child would create evil destruction?
I know it is a weird post but I was just wondering where most peoples logic would be with a question like this.

i wouldnt believe them. no one can predict my childs future. i dont know.. i love my son and if some godly figure told me he would be the next hitler.. id say.. so be it. i love him and i would never want him gone.

I agree...nobody can tell me how my child is gonna act...

Well, I believe that nature and nurture play a combined role.

Strong nature +weak nurture = successful individual
Strong nature + strong nurture = successful individual
Weak nature + strong nurture = either successful or non-successful individual
Weak nature + weak nurture = more than likely a non-succesfful individual

Of course, this is my theory, nothing experiemented (other than my own personal findings) or proven.

Hitler is what he is due to genetics (he was both inbred and suffered from both personality and mental disorders). This could have been the result of abandonement (nurture) from his mother or his pre-determined mental disorders (nature) aggravated by his lifestyle (nurture). Hitler was a very smart individual. He was educated and knew exactly how to manipulate the situation. He, however, used his knowledge for personal gain and agenda.

I don't think it's even a fair hypothetical question to ask if you would bring a child into a world if s/he would do what Hitler did. Our lives aren't black and white like that. I personally do not believe one's life is predetermined, because that would mean no matterthe efforts of my parenting, their outcomes could become horrible. I know that I do not set my children up for failure, regardless of what their nature is.

Then again, my mom always told me to be the best at whatever I become...and I would always ask, "well, what if I became a prostitute?" She would reply, "Be the best damn prostitute you can be!" LOL

Well I dont believe in stuff like that, so there is no real "logical" answer.

If somehow I DID believe in that, then no, I wouldnt have a child. I woudl adopt instead. I woudl never want that on my shoulders, knowing that I could have prevented it.

I also dont think that you have to give birth to be a mom.

No future is for certain....a destiny is non existant....so I wouldnt listen to them...

Personally, I would have my child anyways. If Corbin grew up to be an evil mastermind, I'm his mommy and he'd never hurt me...   So I'm safe.
