Me and the hubby were watching Hannah Montana (Yeah so, I made him watch it against his will!) and I was thinking - what if somebody was to name their baby Miley? I mean, tons of people name their babies after celebrities. I knew a girl named Stephanie Derek (after Bo Derek) and her sisters name was Loren (said Lauren, but named after Sophia Loren)... would Miley be the same or would she be picked on?? Derek & Loren were popular in the 80's, like Miley... would it be the same thing or would she be hasseled???

I think it's okay I got the name Isabella from a book, the main character Isabella ended updating a vampire but the name to me is lovely. Miley is a cool name

i think its alright. think about how many britneys and christinas are out there. and brads and toms.....

i don't think she would be picked on, i just can not stand miley cyrus and her split personality, it makes my brain hurt so i couldn;t personaly use the name

Jut spell it Myleah or Myleigh

I love it. You could even spell it differently, Milee or Mylee. Just a thought, maybe that would help downplay the association with Miley Cyrus.

I'd use it, I acutally want that if I have another girl Fuck Miley Cyrus your kid doesnt have to be named after her, its a nice name. I dont think she'd be hassled at all, Miley Cyrus and that hannah montanna crap is such a fad by the time our kids grow she'll be long forgotten and some other fad will be out and about.

I wish I could say "fuck miley cyrus" but, that's all I think about....even if her real name is Destiny maybe spell it differently like Luba suggested.

i personally love the name Miley, my husband not so much so i'd never use it, but Miley is such a nice name, i would spell it Myleigh so its no 100% liek miley and it has my name leigh involved.

I have to agree, she wont be so big when your kid is grown up, she wont know who miley cyrus or hannah montana are!!

yeah personally I wouldnt but Its your baby and you have to live with the name. I think the only reason I dont like it is cause I used to get made fun of with my name. My name is Kylee and punks in school would call me kylee-miley and it upset me... id ont know why it just did lol

I know this is going to make me a nerd, but I was watching Oprah one time and they said Miley was named "Hope Destiny Cyrus" , but Billy Ray started calling her smiley and then started calling her Miley like baby talk so Miley's just her nickame, not her actual name....So, go for it hun!
