Getting rid of warts while preggo...

posted 24th Aug
I have a wart on my thumb and I've been putting wart remover pads on it the last 2 days but I've now heard that it is not safe to put them on cuz they have sysilic acid in them. Has anyone used them while preggo? I don't want to hurt my son but I want to get rid of this darn wart.

Any suggestions or things that have worked for you would be great!

i'd think the dr scholls wart freezing stuff would be fine. my dr used some sort of wart remover with acid in it on me. i'd call and make sure with your dr tho

OK, this is going to sound weird but:

About a year before I got pregnant, I started getting warts. I had never had one in my life and by the time I got pregnant, I had three on my hands and four planters warts on my foot...I was so embarrassed by them. Then at 8 weeks pp, they all just fell off! I have no idea why, but they all peeled off and now I don't have any! Weird, huh?

I wish I had a better answer for you other than wait and see...maybe a dermatologist consultation would help. Good luck  !

I got a random one when I was pregnant with Maddy. On my wrist!
I went to the doctor and they froze it off.

Really? Cuz Thats exactly what I'm doing and the box says nothing about not using if your preggo but lots of people have told me that their doctors told them not to use anything with sysilic acid.

Well I go into my monthly check-up tomorrow morning so I'm going to ask about it and I'll let you ladies know what MY doctor has to say about it.

I wish I was that lucky   I didn't have any either, then I got one one my foot and they started growing from there. I now have one on my left wrist, my left pointer finger, and five on my right foot. I get so embarressed about them, I can't stand it.

Dr, Shultz freeze off is okay by docs. I asked and I asked various docs for different opinions and they all told me it was ok. It sometimes has to do with hormones.

You can also cut a tiny piece of potato skin, with some potato on it, and tape it to the wart. Make sure your piece of potato is no bigger than your wart or you will have a hole where you didn't want it, which HURTS! Do this for 4-7 days and it will turn black and fall off. Done it, it works. It is also very cheap. You can tape it on when you are sleeping only if you like, but it does kinda burn some. A natural cure you won't have to worry if it is safe or not.

Interesting. I think I might have to try that!
