re: Soy: Not so good for you?

Its everything the kids eat thats causing them to "mature" bodily faster than ever.
The crap is in everything, from drinks, to food, even sprayed on veggies.
Thats why I eat all organic, there are none of that crap in my food.

I didn't get boobs till I was 20, and I didn't start my period till I was 21. Doctors could never figure out why.

I've heard that cultured soy products such as tofu and soy yogurt are much better for you than other soy products.

*giggle*

remember in the early 90's when the cow milk hooplah happened?-- "Is milk really a health kick?" "Cow's milk rots in your belly"-- all kinds of controversy. but we still guzzle cow's milk like crazy. oh well. there will always be things that we suddenly discover is not as healthy as we once thought.
anyway, soy is yummy.

Thanks for posting this. I have had my daughter on soy milk since she is sensitive to cows milk... but have heard here and there that other milks are better... but can't get an answer as to why. Which would you suggest? Is rice or almond milk a better alternative to cows milk?

Almost 14 months. She was started on cows milk at 11 1/2 months and I noticed she had severe liquid poops and switched to soy at 12 1/2 months. It went away. Any time I have given her cows milk since she gets the same liquid poops. It also caused severe diaper rash to form. She'll also get it now too if she eats too much cheese.

I was reading a going-green book and it had stated that soy farms produce more pollution to water than any other crop. Interesting.

I would think that rice milk would be easier on the digestion, but almond milk would be healthier. Maybe just get some of each and see which she likes better!

I have my daughter on rice milk (lactose intolerant), she does really great on it.. I am also going to be trying her on goat's milk, it's easier to digest than cow's milk (less lactose).. and apparently is similar in composition to human milk.
