Mamas w/babies with acid reflux. . .

What kind of formula is your baby on?
Lily is on medicine for acid reflux but it doesnt work that well since she's still spitting up. Right now shes on enfamil a.r. It has rice starch in it, that is supposed to help babies that spit up.
But ive heard of a lot of moms saying their babies are on similac sensive which is supposed to help with fussiness & gas, not spit up.
So what kind do you use?

Aiden has acid reflux but the medicine does help. He's on Enfimal Pro seed which is Soy formula but that's because he was throwing up on the milk based stuff to the point of choking on it.

Jacey is on Prilosec. She was on Zantac before, Zantac didnt work. The Prilosec doesnt help with the spit-up, only the pain it causes.
Anyway, Shes on Enfamil AR, and its the only formula that we can use that she doesnt choke when it comes back up. It a little bit of a hassle to mix, we use a formula mixer because shaking it doesnt work. But it seems to be the best for us.
There is a Similac formula thats I think a sensitive kind that also has rice starch. i think its called Similac Sensitive AS

honestly i don't remember exactly what the name of it was ( my son is 2 now) but i bought if from winn dixie and it was winndixie brand(kuddles) you will see on the container it will say for fussiness, gas , and spit up. Oh and that meds. that they put my son on did not work either as a matter of a fact it made it worse so i took him off of it and he still threw up a lil bit but not as bad as when he was on the meds. Well, the good news is she prob will grow out of it cause my son has he don't have acid reflux no more!

oh okay. yeah she was on similac sensitive a.r. but the only way they make it here is already made up & its wayyyy to expensive & my wic wont pay for it since its not powdered or concenrtate.

i didnt know it was a hassle to mix! i guess i need to get a mixer too,

my daughter was on Prevacid. She didn't have a problem with spitting up, she just was in so much pain that she wouldn't eat. But, I have a friend who's baby spit up HORRIBLE and they put him on Prevacid and Similac Alementum Formula...worked like a charm. They tried other formulas, but this was the only one that worked!

Yeah that similac one that starts with an A is like 27 dollars a can. So is the Enfamil one, called Nutramegeon (sp) they are hypoallerginic. All man made produce basically, nothing from cows milk or soy.
But WIC doesnt like to cover that one either.

jackson is on enfamil gentlease and the doctor told us to put a little bit of rice cereal in it.. it seems to be working just fine.. he still spits up a little bit but thats completely normal.. and its not a lot... when he was first born he was spitting up basically all of his milk that i had fed him and he was losing weight because of it so the doctor switched him to that gentlease and his weight has gone way up and his spit up is very little.
