swollen eye

this morning when i went into ethan's room to change him he was keeping his left eye shut and it looked swollen. now he can open it, but barely. i've touched it and it doesn't seem painful to him. any ideas on what this is?

he did get bit by mosquitos on our walk friday...

A few months ago that happened tp my daughter. It started on one side then both were swollen. i took her to the doc because it looked like she had gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. They werent bruised either, and did not seem to give her any pain either. They told me to give her Benadryl, the infants/children's kind that she had seasonal allergies. I did that and the awelling went down in a few days. However, Benadryl may not make him sleepy like it does some. It made my daughter fly around like she was on speed or something. I would say just call the doc. I would bet though that wither he got something in the eye and rubbed the hell out of it or he has an allergy. Good luck!

he is on amoxicillin right now for the first time because he has an ear infection. i wonder if that could be related.

i really think it could be a mosquito bite, or even allergies too like the other gal said, ive had many swollen eyes like that too. I hope it heals soon, benadryl will be good though, since theres not much u can put around his eye.

My eye swells up like that due to allergies on occasion. Perhaph that's what it is?

My daughter's left eye a couple of weeks ago I had to call the doctor's they told me to give her Benadryl and that help a lot..
