Well i DO feed him miracle grow... he was 3 months and STILL not walking, something had to have been wrong!!

My son has acid reflux as well. Unfortunately, we had to admit him to the hospital after being home only 3 days. He just wasn't keeping anything down, not even my breastmilk. He's seeing a gastrointestinal specialist and she recommended rice cereal in a bottle with his formula that he is now on. How is your son at night time? Does his reflux kick in more at night or is it pretty much maintained?

My daughters acid relux does seem worse at night, but I think it is because after her bottle we put her back down for bed, and laying flat makes reflux worse. Try proping your little one up when you lay him down to sleep.

I see I came into this discussion kind of late but just wanted to add my opinion. I am a mother of 3 and on my 4th child. ALL my babies had cereal in their bottles. A ped sure didn't advise me and it wasn't because I "wanted my beauty sleep". It was because they just were not getting full at all. I find myself just amazed at how many people swear by what their doctors tell them. Like if what they are telling you to do is what they know for a fact. A majority of these doctors don't have kids or have kids but they weren't the primary caregivers. Ever wonder why there are so many allergies with kids lately. In 3rd world countries you rarely hear of these allergies because of the fact that those kids are fed what is there to eat at that precise moment making it easy for their systems to develope strong immune to it.
So I gave my kids cereal in their bottles eventually when just milk didn't cut it. And it all worked out. My kids are now 11, 10, and 6. All healthy weights, no disorders or allergies.
I wouldn't recommend everyone to feed your child this way though because all babies are different. Some are not too mature and probably wouldn't be able to feed this way but I'm just glad mine were and I never had any problems. So what I'm saying is that its up to each individual mother because YOU know your child best.

My son's doctor told me not to give him the cereal in a bottle.The baby can't poop.Said it's best to feed it to him on a spoon. I had my son eatting rice cereal when he was 3 an half mths old.If ur baby sits up good with support then you should try it.Hope I helped some what.
