I'm so fucking PISSED

posted 23rd Aug
So, Dallas and I support ourselvs and Xander and we get by alright but there are just some things we cant get on our own. I hate it because I can't find a job now.
Any ways, My son needs a new car seat because he's almost to big for his infant seat so I want to get a convertable one. Well, we don't have the extra 75+ dollars to get one. I asked my mom to help me pay for one and she said they don't have the money. Well, I guess cigs for her and cigs/beer, and a fenced in yard are more important then her grandson and something he NEEDS compared to something they WANT.
Every thing has ALWAYS been more inportant than her own damn kids..atleast me anyways... I'm so fucking pissed 'cuz I can see how uncomfortable his seat is getting and the straps are getting tight on him

This is not her problem...it's yours.

walmart has carseats for cheaper than 75 bucks.

I know how you feel about the family putting their crap in front of the kids, my parents are the same way, at least with me, my sister and her kids can do no wrong, but when it comes to me and my family its a whole other story, its annoying.

I hope things get better for you, you could also try kmart for a carseat they have some cute ones up there and they have the convertable ones for pretty cheap. Good luck!

i know you will probably hate to hear this...but it's your family now and not your mom's responsibility to get things you need for your *adorable* son...sorry if that pisses you off even more...

What about craigslist...there should be some pretty cheap carseats in your area...

It may suck but thats really not her responsibility. You are his mother, not her.

Ah, I was scared to say it.

A lot of people rant about parents who are a little too involved. This is why I'm so anti-planning babies when you live with your parents (not that you do) just because it's too easy to depend on them.

Your family = Your responsibility.

If you needed a car seat when YOU were a baby, it was your mom's responsibility. Now, not so much.

not to sound liek a btich, but it's not your mom's job to pay for things for you and/or your family. But i know how it can be when you're tight on cash. Maybe there are some palces in your budget you can cut? If not i hear peple always talking about craigslist or ebay. But i seen carseats at walmart for about $40. Or amybe even yard sales?

It sucks being a single mom. I remember when my daughter started getting too big for her infant seat, and needed a new one. I was working full time, going to school part time, and my closest parent was the one who swore I took the money I owed her and got an abortion. N E Way, so, I understand. I know it feels like mom or dad should help out, but they sometimes look at it like "I raised you, its your turn to do something, especially if you were grown enough to make the baby". My suggestion is to hook up with your local freecycle. Its a yahoo group .... go to www.freecycle.com and find one in your area. Free cycle is similar to craigslist.com, however, the freecycle is all FREE things in your area, just trying to keep the stuff out of landfills. You'd be surprised at the things that people give away when they don't need. Many people have things hanging around and don't feel like throwing a yardsale, or have a genuine desire to pass things on, or pay it forward, to others who need it as badly as they may have. You should check it out. It is many a family's best friend, especially single parent families. Good luck.

Well, my mom still is LEAGLLY responsible for me for 9 more months so any thing I need is ok.. And she told me she'll help me get whatever I need if Dallas and I are tight on cash (like right now.. He hasn't worked in 2 weeks..gors back this week)
I asked my mom to take me to wal*mart, Meijer AND Kmart.. 'cuz neither Dallas nor I can drive on our own yet.. she said she would and it never happened. I was just going to take money and buy a seat and tell dallas later.
I told her"ok, you don't have the money now.. maybe we can buy one and you can give us some money later on mhen you have some" She agreed and we were going to go when it got ooler (about 3 hours ago) And she didn't take me.. She ALWAYS does this.... I'm so sick of her! I guess it's not even her, it's my step-dad! If I could find a job we'd be set..but that's not gonna happen.
We need to move out of here NOW!
I know it's not her job to support us but she said sh'e help us out with everthing that Xander needs since i'm only 17 and am having hell of a time finding a job.

By saying your mom is "responsible" for you for 9 more months, is ridiculous!
Your admitting your a child, and children shouldn't have babies in the first place. If you can't take responsibility for your son you can't expect your mom to.

You can't drive, you have to depend on your mom for cash, you are 17, do I need to go on. Put on your big girl panties and grow up.....2 kids cost a lot more than one...and just because you will be 18, what makes you think you will find a job then??? Wait till you move out and have real bills, then you will know what being broke is all about.
