Around here the police station gives carseats for free. May not be the one you want but it would be safe.... Look online in your area.

Quoting ~HisLovingGirl~:“ Well, my mom still is LEAGLLY responsible for me for 9 more months so any thing I need is ok.. And she ... [snip!] ... us but she said sh'e help us out with everthing that Xander needs since i'm only 17 and am having hell of a time finding a job.”
So beacuse she's legally responsible for you she should pay for your child? She did not choose to get you pregnant.

Hahaha.

Op: I am your age too. Its hard being a young mom, so i get where you are coming from.. but it doesnt matter what she offered or promised. After you have a baby, YOU become responsible for them. 'She is responsible for you for 9 more months'... She is responsible in making sure you obey the laws, eat, etc. She is not responsible for taking care of the consequences of decisions you made on your own. Sorry to come down harsh but I just have to say you are lucky she is even letting you live with her. Definitely try craigslist or even Ebay.. or maybe instead of paying for internet for a month or two-put the money towards the carseat that you need?

My mom pays for nothing besideds a roof over my daughter and myselfs heads. And I am greatfull for that! Both Morgans father and I have full time jobs and we go to school, and we still cant make it. I cry just about everyday because of lack of money, but I always find a way! Like I sell morgans old clothes/swing/ old carseat/ old everythingon craigslist. I baby-sitt all weekend. I mean you just have to find a way. You are your moms child, she is not your sons mother, thats you. And didnt you say your boyfriend was 10 years older then you in another post?

wow . . just wow . .
you open your legs & have a baby this young, therefore it's YOUR responsibility to take care& also proved for the child that you have . being 17 isn't much of an excuseeither, i had my daughter when i was 17, i'm now almost 19 & my mother has never had to buy anything for my child, unless it was a gift or something she wanted to do . it's your mother's money & if she wants to spend it on smokes & beer than that is HER choice, not yours . .

& pulling this . . 'oh my gosh, she never cared about me or what i need' is the stupidest thing i've ever heard in the world. .

i think you have a lot more growing up to do before you have another child, you can't even afford the first one . . why make another child go through the same thing? . . selfish, i think so . .

I know how you feel. Having a kid young is very hard and sometimes you need help. When it comes to things that your child and their grandchild actually needs (food, a place to live, careat, etc.) you would think family would care a little more. People in my family have said they were going to do a lot for my son but haven't and its annoying. Its would be better if they would just stay away and not say anything so I wouldn't feel like they would be there for us if we need help. Still, you have to find some way to do it becuase it is your baby. even though it sucks and i feel family should help each other its not always that way. Is there some way you can save up some extra cash? Maybe just put away a little bit every week. It will add up!

i dont get why your saying ok well we can go buy it and you can pay us back later. i thought you just said you didnt have the money. what bills do you have at 17 besides your child and no driving costs? not her responsibility to "pay you back" for something for your child that you think she should pay for. even parents have times when extra cash is a little tight.
