bottle questions

How often should a 1 year old drink otu of a bottle and how many oz? How did you get your child off the bottle?

My son has always been a bottle boy. He likes to eat and eats well but would always prefer a bottle over soilds. Now he will go anywhere between 3-6 hours before having a 8oz bottle. Hes being weaned onto whole milk and only gets 1oz of formula and 7oz of milk. He goes to bed drinking a bottle most nights. How can I break that habit?

my daughter weaned herself off the bottle at 10 months so i have no idea how to do that...but i can help with weaning off of formula

every couple of days take an oz of formula out and add an oz of whole milk...for example in a day or so do 6 oz formula 2 oz whole milk, then 5 oz formula 3 oz milk and so forth.

and get him to drink it before you lay him down.

another thing, offer him a sippy during his daytime feedings. if he really wants it he will drink it. eventually, he should take a sippy whenever you give it to him. i don't know how long that would take now...i started doing that around 6 months old, but wasn't in a hurry or anything then.

hes alreadly being weaned off of formula. We started giving him a sippy cup around 6 or 7 months. He uses a sippy cup at meals and usually has water but will not drink more than a sip or two of milk out of it. He will only drink milk out of a bottle.

what cup doyou try to use? i had to try a few before we found some she really liked...i'm gonna go grab a couple of links for cups i know are easier to switch to from the bottle

he has a few different kinds. I think one like that would be good for when he drinks milk. He doesn't really care with water but with milk its a big deal to him haha. hes so stuborn.

or you could always try to go straight to a straw one
