Honestly, salon quality is the way to go in my experience. I have a friend who has the craziest, curliest hair you will ever see. She uses Paul Brown Hawaii and her hair is always nice and straight. And use a 1 inch plate, works waaay better lol. My mom is a hairdresser

thats weird, i absolutely love my chi! I've had it for like 4 years now or so, and I've never had a problem with it. It's the straightner that they use in all the salons in my area

I have a Chi straightener too and it works great for me
It's the Chi Turbo. I don't get as many split ends as I did with my cheap flat irons.I bought it about three years ago and it still works great!! My best friend bought a different brand one ata stand at themall. She paid $60 less than I did but hers only lasted a year and she totally fried her hair while she had it!!

Really? The Chi was the only thing that worked for my hair. Have you tried the chi serum or whatever?

Yup...do you think it's because I have mixed hair? It's not very good mixed hair [[lol]] but mixed hair nonetheless

I have mixed hair too & the Chi has been the only straightener that really worked for me. What are you putting in it when you straighten it?

When you use your iron, do you use any products with it (straightening cream etc)?

This may sound stupid but do you blow it dry first & try to get it straightened as much as you can?

i have a sedu straightener and love it. its lasted 4 years so far!

http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1557.html

they have different plate widths but i use a 1". it gets closer to your roots. $108 w/free shipping is a really good deal for such a great straightner. ive had both chi and sedu and this one is a thousand times better.
