Without knowing the sex would be too soon in my mind.

start looking things up and get ideas.. but yea i would wait until you find out the sex... some nuetral nurseries are obnoxious....

Well you can start gettin the crib and changing table, because you can get those in white or brown for boy/girl but everything else is pretty much boyish or for girlys.Unless you are doing like yellow/greens.
I started gettin mine put up right when I found out what I was having.

you can always just look around and get a general idea of what you'd like. And cribs are pretty gender nuteral so buying one wouldn't be too risky (I don't think). Or you could spend this time thinking of a theme for for the little one.
And pricing things out is ALWAYS a good option. go to different places and compare prices on basics.
Plus you can get wash clothes, diapers, bath products, infant bath tub, butt paste, plain bibs... there is alot you can get without knowing the sex.

Those damn grandma's!!! My mom was the same way, that's funny. With all of mine I didn't buy anything until around 7 months along. I waited until my baby showers. I'm glad I waited because some of my friends bought me strollers and cribs and swings and all the big stuff! I just told them the theme and they went to town I love my friends. One thing I did do is I bought one pack of diapers each month of my pregnancy. I know that sounds silly, but you're going to use them AND that way it cured my craving of wanting to buy tons of baby stuff. I would just buy different sizes of diapers so I was always prepared. I'm odd though.

I had my nursey done by 16 weeks. I did not want pink and I did not want blue so I did something that could go for both genders. Next baby will be the same I already have the set picked out just need to get pg to buy it.

I'd say start getting the bigger "neutral" type items such as Crib and change table 4-5 months before hand (I was spazzing out because we didn't have those by 7 months) but you can't necessarily wait until you know the sex, sometimes even though you want to know before hand the baby wont let you know until it's actually born (Mine did that to me the little brat!!) but put aside the $$ for the bedding corordinate sets you like so it'll be faster to get them if it takes you that long to find out, just incase, but don't buy them until a month maybe 2 before baby is due, again if your little one will let you know what you're having. I'm hoping that our next one will scream "I'M A GIRL" nice and early on and be telling the truth, but I figure it's gonna be another brat and if it's saying one way or another it'll actually be telling lies. I mean for me... I'm just getting an idea for either boy or girl because like me I don't know sex yet. Nothing wrong with shopping now. You can get like the bed and changing table...
