Bladder infection scare & ?

Hi ladies Im 18wks and 5days. Well for the past 2days, only at night, i was straining when i would pee and it was only squirts of pee. Well this morning was the first moring that I was straining in the morning once i was finishing peeing. And then i saw spots of blood. I went to the restroom like 6 times in 2 hrs and still bleeding. I had called my dr. already and they wanted me to come in. My dr. said that everything looked ok with my cervix & baby's heart beat. And it appears to be a really bad bladder infection... is that possible or has anyone had one this bad??

I've had blood in my urine for my whole pregnancy - not visible blood....

But you could have a kidney stone or gall stone trying to come out too - bleeding is usually present as the stone tries to make it's way through.

In addition to any meds you're taking - start drinking a crapload of cranberry juice, in addition to your water intake - it will help with the pain if it's an infection.

I have definatly had them this bad, take your antibiotics (the doc should have prescribed them) and you will be ok. If you dont treat it however it can cause premature labor, i have seen it with several friends. Drink lots and lots of water and remember to wipe from front to back. I hope you get better!

ok thanks girls!! Yea the dr. gave me antibiotics and told me she could tell i wasn't drinking enough water and i knew i could drink more!! sux
Yea she was worried that i may have kidney stones or gall stones. My mom had gall stones when she was pg with me and that back in the day when the did the entire abdomen cut.
Wow i didn't know it could cause preterm labor!!
Yea this started Wed, Thurs I went in just for a urine test so they can test for bladder infection, then bleeding started today so I went in today. My dr. was really happy with my quick response as well.
Only bad thing is i don't like cranberry juice unless its with Vodka!! lol but i'll do what i need to do for my baby!!
