I might be in labor....

My doctor stripped my membranes yesterday....and I have had 4 (semi-painful) contractions within the last hour. I was laying in bed during all of them. Now I am sitting on the couch with the computer.... and just had another one...but didn't last too long.
When should I call my dr? If this is really it, I want to stay at home as long as possible bc I don't want an epidural. This is my second child, so I think I am supossed to go to the hospital when the contractions are 10 minutes apart and 60 seconds long, right? Ahhhh! It's like I have read all of this before, but now that it might actually be happening I feel like a spaz!

My doctor says 5 min a part for an hour I was in today with contraction.... But some doctors are different.

I'm not an expert here but I believe you're suppose to walk around and see if it changes.  But your timing thing sounds right.

yup!!! just start timing them.... did your docotr only have to scrap you once of more then once and were you dialated at all?
sorry I am so curious but I had it done on monday and dialted to a 1 but nothing yet she will do it again this monday so I am just wondering???

She only stripped them once (yesterday). I was already 2 cm and 60% effaced before she did it.

Maybe!! Everyone is different. Did you feel crampy at all after you had it done? I have been feeling period-like cramps ever since.

oh yeah... the peroid cramps for sure but not contractions =(..I have had them but not to where I need to time them or anything. they are pretty sperattick(sp)..I am a terrible speller if you can even guess what that says..lol
but yeah I am at a "good"1 and 50% effaced!

Im so jealous of you! My doctor stripped m membranes on tueday and I was3 centimeters and 50% effaced and still nothing for me! Good luck to you lots of labor dust!

aaahhh don't say that now I don't think it will work for me...=( but I have had pre-term abor that I was put onprocardia for sooo maybe it will ..... who knows

aaaw that really sucks.... maybe it will work the next time your docotr does it for you!

yeah I hope so but Im not even being seen every week even though I'll be 38 weeks in 2 days I dont go back until the 2nd haha my baby is playing mind tricks with me but good luck to you at ur next appt
