Piercings while preggo

I know there's not anything I've read that says you can't get any, but isn't there higher risk of infection? I think I'm about to get my nose redone.

No piercings, too much risk of infections.
Any professional piercer will not knowingly pierce a pregnant woman.

Definitelt wait, if you find someone who will pierce you, you shouldn't trust them pregnant or not since tatoos and peircings are a major no no during pregnancy

tattoos and piercings both... my boyfriend is a tattoo artist and won't pierce or tattoo a pregnant woman.

There is no higher risk of infection. What is a risk though is shock. Everytime you get pierced you run the risk of going into shock. The risk is even higher if you are pregnant because then the baby is put at risk too.

Best thing to do is wait until you have the baby.

I didn't say there was higher risk of infection. There is a risk of infection, which there is with any piercing.
But when your pregnant, your baby is more likely to be affected more by infections and other things, so it's not worth the risk.

yup! Infection for tats is wrong, but not for piercings....

The OP said there was a higher risk of infection.

And you're right, nothing is worth the risk when it comes to your baby. It's only 9 months of your life but it could mean a lifetime of problems for them.

Exactly. It annoys me to see pregnant women going into my friends tattoo shop trying to get pierced/tattooed.
Freakin 9 months, is that so long to wait when it could mean harming your baby.

I'm a piercer soI see it all the time. I just tell them they need to start putting their child first NOW while they're pregnant.....because once the baby is here they will have to get used to being 2nd in line.

I would love to be a piercer, but i dont even know how i would get started with it or anything.

Just go ask around at shops if they are looking for an apprentice. That's usually the best way to start. It's a blast. I love my job.

I've always wanted to be a piercer.
Plus, it's a bitch finding a job with all my tattoos. Everyone around here is so old fashioned and boring. I always get turned down when they see what i look like.
