Updating registry when gifts are bought!!

Is it just me or do any of you keep looking at your registry everyday waiting for someone to buy something for your shower off of it? I registered at BabiesRUs and I have like 50 plus things on it. 9 items have been bought but they were bought by my husband, my Mom , and my Aunt and it is all here with me now.My Mom and Aunt live out of town so they sent money and I bought the gifts, this way we could save on shipping and handling. Anyway, my shower is August 30th and I am worried that people are going to buy things I don't want from another store. Those that do buy off my registry won't update the items bought already. This happened to me at my last shower. I am so stressed over this. Ahhh

My shower is Aug. 31st and I'm obsessed with looking at my registry. I have like 110 things at BRU. LOL. If I get gifts not off of my registry, I am planning on saying, "OH, how cute, where'd you get it??" and hopefully I can return whatever it is and go buy stuff from my own registry.

People bought stuff I had on my registry but didn't mark it off or whatever for both my wedding and babyshower. So I had TONS of stuff to return after my wedding and a few things to return after my babyshower. (just kept alot of the doubles from my babyshower b/c i may need them later on) And alot of the stuff I really wanted I didn't get at the babyshower....for some reason everyone pretty much bought the same things (pacifiers, blankets, crib sheets).

My sister in law had hers last month and got 5 items off her registry. She had 85 things on her registry. She got tons of stuff with no receipts and has no idea where it came from. I feel so bad because this is her first baby. She received literally about 40 receiving blankets... I hope I get gift receipts. I willask people though where they bought whatever it is that Iget if i didn't ask for it. However Iwill do it with the person and not in front of everyone to put them on the spot.

When i buy stuff of a registry i dont really tell them so they cant mark it. I dunno everything everyone gave me i pretty much used i dont think there was one thing i returned other than an outfit that was too small only because they didnt give it too me when he was born but when he was like 5 months old so of course newborn didnt fit. I dunno you sound kinda selfish to me. Be thankful you have ppl to give things to you!

Well of course I am very very thankful. However I am not selfish at all. I just feel that if the invitation says registered at a specific store it would be nice if the person buying you the gift would buy something at that specific store. After all this is what you are asking for for your baby. I feel I would be being selfish if I were to complain that nobody bought me the expensive items. I put a lot of things that are expensive on my registry and I didn't want anyone to break the bank buying me something they couldn't afford. So my husband and I bought them all. Everything left on my registry is under $20.
