Gestational Diabetes....

I am only 14 weeks along and they already suspect I have gestationl disbetes....

I feel so alone...
So scared...
So ugly...
And so jealous...
I want to feel my baby move and I want to know what my baby is...

Why do they think you have GD already? And if they are concerned why have they not tested you??
It will be awhile probably before you can feel the baby move, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. I'm not sure why you feel the rest of those emotions, maybe hormones? They should do a gender determination around 18 weeks.

I go for my test this month, scary shit, but most of the time they can handle it with your diet so try not to stress too much about it. I started feeling my baby move around 14-15 weeks, it could be any day for you now, its different for everyone. & Why do you feel ugly & jealous? Just hormones?

That's what I was thinking, I get tested at 28 weeks, and my dr said I shouldn't have any symptoms because by the time you start getting symptoms it's gotten pretty bad.

I do have it... and honestly, it's not as bad as everyone seems to think!

I have to poke my finger alot, and can't have hot fudge sundaes.... but other than than that it's very manageable if you learn how to eat and stick with it!

 

They think I have it cause my sugar keeps dropping down into the 50's and I feel like Im about to hit the floor. My doctor Wants to test me on monday along with toximia....

they are making me so worried....

How often are you eating?

Before I was diagnosed I had some problems with hypoglycemia (low sugars) but I've been that way my whole life... It's 'cause I was so nauseated, I wasn't eating enough....

I'm not diabetic normally - I am hypoglycemic when not pregnant... If you have GD, it really isn't that bad....AND, your sugars could just be low because pregnancy hormones are throwing your pancreas into overdrive - I had a friend who had the exact issue you did - she didn't have GD, she was honestly just hypoglycemic, and her doc told her she needed to eat every hour!

And, when you do have the "gonna hit the floor feeling,"
OJ is the best and quickest cure for it! Any juice would work, but OJ is the best to fix it so you don't actually pass out. Or have a seizure for that matter.

Uhhh...I don't know if I believe this...
They don't considered it preeclampsia until after 20 weeks, before that it is considered undiagnosed chronic hypertension.
So I will call BS on either you or your doctor.

It's called I dont sit online all day. Sorry, some of us work and need to run errands with a two year old =]
So thanks for calling BS but I know what my doctor has told me. Yours might tell you diffrent or you might think diffrent but thats you, not me. Every pregnancy is diffrent and I have been at risk since day one.
So uhm thanks for your non-support and thanks for reading a forum and posting on something you probably should of just left alone.

Oh, and yeah I forgot, I did do the orange juice thing and I saw how much it helped to raise my sugar. OJ isn't my favorite but gotta do what you gotta do!
