charting cycles

Hi ladies. So i have decided that i am going to stop BC and start charting my cycles in preparation for TTC at the end of the year or early next year. But i have a question, on my last pack of BC i was scheduled to get AF Weds Aug 20 Well my dog got my pack of pills and ate mondays pill and because i missed that pill and was so close to AF i "started" on Tues aug 19. BUT here is the thing that is stumping me. (TMI)it has only been light pink and brown spotting except for yesterday am there was a VERY light flow of brown tinged blood. and so far today nothing.... If this was my period its the lightest one i have EVER had. So my question is, in charting from what i understand you are supposed to count day one of your cycle as the 1st day of bright red flow... I havent had that so should i count day one as the 19 when i started spotting or should i count it as yesterday when i had the "flow" i did? Also ive decided not to temp during AF so i was intending to start temping the last day of AF. Thanks ladies and im sorry if that doesnt make sense... i tried to make it sound right... lol

I have been fearing that..... just because my BIL and his wife have been trying for nearly a year and they live about 5 mins from us so we see them all the time and i want them to get pg before us.... thats why we decided to wait probably till dec -feb before we try. But i havent had any symptoms of being pg, but then again i didnt with my son either. PLUSthe insurance we have right nowdoesnt cover maternity, we are in the approval process of a new policy with a company that offers it... if i get pg within 30 days of the policy starting it wont be convered lol so lets cross the fingers that im not yet  

For myself I temp during AF just so I don't get out of habit.
