Money Problems

posted 22nd Aug
Ok so ever since I moved to Colorado I have not been able to find a job. I really need to find a way to get a job or money. No one wants to hire me cause of me being almost twenty weeks pregnant. Anyone have any ideas?

Im going through the same thing.

You could try chacha.com or wahm.com to make some extra money by working from the computer. Call some temp agencies and go register with them. Put in ad on Craigslist or in the paper to babysit or something.

Good luck.

do you look pregnant? Are you telling them you're pregnant? It's going to be hard to find a job when you're pregnant anyway. but it may help if you're not telling them...maybe...
I have no clue how I'm going to get a job now that I am pregnant-and I'm only 11 weeks. I couldn't work the past 6 weeks if I tried-I've been so sick. So I guess it's a good thing I lost my job..to an extent.

u may have to look for some type of domestic work for now, such as an elderly person who needs a little assitance or a woman who need a nanny for a short while. I was a nanny for a lady who had a c-section she only need me for 8wks but paid 15$/hr so it was a nice temp job. then once u have your baby you can find something steady

I don't want to offend you by saying this, but have you considered public assistance? That's what its there for, especially if you are pregnant, w/no income. In 4 weeks you may be eligible for cash assistance for you and your baby together.

It is discrimination...if they TELL you they're not hiring you due to your pregnancy. But if they just tell you they found someone else for the position, or you're not what they're looking for, there's really nothing you can do about it.

It is but when I call them back and ask them why I didnt get the job all they can say is that there was other people that could handle the job better. Kinda meaning that they were not prenant.

I'm in Indiana. I was informed I cannot get any cash assistance because there are no children in the home. Until I have the baby, they cannot help me with cash, butI was approved forfood stamps, wic, and medicaid.

its tough here even when you aren't preggo, before I landed my current job I was unemployed for about 4 months,...
My advice is a nannie job, that way you still have time to take it easy, when the kid is asleep and you are still active.
Plus there are a lot of good nannie jobs around Denver, most pay pretty good too... idk maybe that helps

You'll have to go to your county's Job and Family services or Welfare department, or Human services department (different cities call it different things). and apply. You will probably have to provide a pregnancy statement, proof that you haven't been employed for the past 6 months, other things. I guess some states aren't like Ohio where you can receive cash asst. once you are 6 months, but if so, then you might have to wait another month before you will be eligible.
