I was induced with Pictosin at 7 am. so by noon I had already gotten my epidural. YOU ARE SOOO MUCH more relaxed with it. At about 9:30 pm i wasnt progressing so we went with a csection. I WAS PERTRIFIED! Its a really odd experience, just stay calm, & everything will be just fine!!

Mine was an emergency, so I am thinking it was a lot more complicated then a scheduled one will be. Nope, once my epi was in I felt nothing. I didn't think it was as bad as others made it seem. I mean, it's not a walk in the park but I will do it again. In fact, I will have to have all c-sections with any other children I have. Good luck hun, everything will be fine and you will have your little one in your arms soon!

Maybe sharing your experience wasn't necessary...might scare her a bit. This does happen but not often. I think most people are ok with their section experience.

Sorry that it was such a bad experience for you. Hopefully you will have a wonderful birth if you have another baby!

I was really nervous for my c-section. I've never had surgery of any sort let alone a c-section. But everything was fine. The spinal was interesting. I felt interesting. I couldn't feel anything. They said they were pinching my toes and I could not feel it. You'll do awesome   *sends positive energies*

I was really nervous as well, but after 36 hours of labor i just wanted it t be done with...already had the epi so i was good. My only regret was that my c section took place in the middle of the night, so besides being tired...when they took my daughter out I guess the up'd my pain meds so i was knocked the hell out =0( I dont remember her coming out, or hearing her cry. Thank god for video camera and pictures. I just wish i had the experiance to get to see her as soon as she was born.

I didn't feel more calm after my spinal just because I had a reaction that made my entire body shake like CRAZY!! My husband was really nervous for me too - kind of freaked us both out. We weren't expecting it that is for sure. I was so glad once it was done though.

i went to my 8 month check up and the dr sent me straight to L&D for a c-section my heart was beating so hard i could barely walk. they did the epidural and strapped me to a table and it was the most horrible thing in the world (not trying to scare you) i didnt know i was gonna have to have a c-section so i think if i would have known it wouldnt have been so bad.... i am easily paranoid so i kept thinking i was gonna pass out because my baby was so big when i layed down i felt as if i couldnt breathe and i was panicking pretty bad...the dr kept reassuring me that if i could talk then i could breathe and i just needed to clam down.... but just remember that after about 10 minutes it s all over and your beautiful baby will be here and the whole thing is worth whatever you endure you may not feel that way while its taking place but afterwards trust me you will!!!!!! good luck

My c-section is on the 26th also but i spoke to my doctor and she eased my mind a bit. She said that they will take out the baby than put me to sleep when they sew me back up, which i think it will help me out instead of sitting there freaking out about what they are doing to me. Good luck!!!!

I would opt to stay awake. I just had my c section 8 days ago, I was so nervous I was shaking so hard in the OR they gave me something to calm me down that made me a little drowsy. I felt nothing, and as soon as I heard him cry I was totally relaxed. the rest goes by so fast. you have to stay in recovery for an hour, so by then you are so ready to hold your little one! surgery is not bad at all! you can do it!

The spinal is not bad at all. I felt pressure as they were injecting it because its quite a bit they give you I guess. again, everything goes so fast! it just hit me, my legs were sooo heavy, the nurses lift your legs up and lay you back on the table since to get the spinal I was sitting on the OR table my feet on a chair. you're laying there and you are very comphortable, and they put the drape up!!
