Yes this is a repost...

I posted this early this morning but didn't get any replies as not many people were on. I have tried googling it and found no answers...

I have been noticing Braxton Hicks since around my 19'th week and now at 23 weeks they have gotten a little stronger. I tend to get them pretty regularly (which my doctor continues to assure me is fine) but within the past week or so I've noticed everytime I get one, my heartbeat becomes irregular and it feels like someone is crushing my lungs. In fact, I can usually tell one is coming on when my heart starts flopping around like that. It's uncomfortable and sometimes lasts up to 30 seconds or more.
Anyone have any input or experience something similar?

I would go to L&D or call your doc and demand to be seen. That doesn't sound right to me.

Anything with that changes the normal rhythm of your heartbeat should be taken seriously, I would tell my Dr immediately!

I have been having BH since 14 weeks. Around 25 weeks my heart started skipping beats alot and racing for no reason when I was resting. I asked my OB/GYN and he referred me to a cardiologist. They did some tests and discovered I had a heart murmur. The Cardiologist said alot of women have murmurs they didn't know about and pregnancy brings them out because of increased stress on the heart and increased blood flow. It went away a few weeks later but it was scary. However, my heart issues were not in conjunction with BH's. I would ask your OB about it, he may send you for some tests just to see whats going on.

It only happens when a BH comes on...the rest of the time it beats normal (which for me is pretty fast anyways.) I tried calling my sister and she's in surgery. Arghhh. I guess I'll call the office and see what they have to say.

That would signal (to me) that your heart in in distress during a BH.. I would hate to see what would happen during a real contraction!

Well definitely tell the doctor about it, yea just call the office and if they can't answer you now they'll have someone call you back who can.

well i called and am waiting for a call back. It didnt start worrying me until it became stronger every time one would come on. I guess we'll see.
