i am spotting and scared...respond with support and hope
posted 21st Aug
Hi.
My name is Leah. I am 29 years old and am pregnant for the first time. After initial shock, I was so excited that I couldn't think of anything else for several days.....even started picking out baby furniture and baby names. Then three days after I found out I was prego, I started spotting and so started the emotional roller coster. Wellevery dayI continue to spot I am sad and scared, butmy HCG levels have been progressing normally. It sucks to go to thedoctor's so oftenand sit around and wait fortestresults. It sucks to keepchecking to see if I am still spotting. No sex and exerciseforme, which makes sitting around and waiting even more difficult. I really want nothing more than to be pregnantand to have a healthy baby. I was sooo desperate and stressed/anxious that I called a psychic (something out of character) for the first time in my life!!! Anyway, send prayers that baby and me are healthy. Also please send stories of spotting to me....both those with positive and negative outcomes and reasons for spotting.
Thanks, Leah

hey... i had the same issue... if you want, check out my profile. i was told that i actually had a miscarriage, then after a full month of antidepressants and birth control, i found out that i was still pregnant!
hang in there, girl, sometimes the baby just likes to cause a lot of drama getting settled in.

Hi Leah! i'll be praying for you. My friend spots a lot as well... i've heard that some women continue to have periods but have healthy babies... just don't let yourself get too stressed ( i know that can be hard )

I just lost my baby last Thursday, I was due April 8.
I spotted and had cramps, and then I passed some clots. I knew I was miscarrying.
Have you been spotting anymore at all? If not, I wouldn't be too worried And your levels increasing is a good sign!

Well I had a previous unexplained miscarriage at 13w5d. Which I had SEVERE cramping and no spotting until the day I lost the baby ...
But when I became pregnant this second time I had a positive pregnany test like 4 days b4 my missed period. And at 5 weeks I began to spot ...
So I went in for an U/S which you cant see much, but come to find out it was twins!!! I spotted from 5 weeks up until like 11 weeks on and off. It was mostly old looking blood ... incredibly nerve wracking and scary but now I'm 21 weeks and so far babies are healthy.
Sometimes women spot during their pg and the babies are just fine. It really sucks because its hard not to worry ... but it can be a normal thing ... Good luck and keep hope!!!

It happened to me also at week 6-7 and then at week 9. The doctor gave me progesterone pills and they kept checking if they could see the heartbeat everytime. Today I am 38 weeks pregnant, so try not to worry much, spotting doesn't always mean missarriage. I pray that everything will be fine with you and your baby...

Hey everyone,
Thank you so much for your support. I am still in Hawaii on my anniversary vacation. It was confirmed last Saturday that I had a miscarriage. My HGC levels were no longer going up. No D&C for now. ER doctors are more conservative and said that I should wait to see if everything passes on its own. I am doing well. Thank you for your concern and caring.
Sincerely, Leah
