Quoting Nicole............ Landin:“ Why would she use the name james and not let his own son take the name james??”I think that is a very good question....maybe you or your husband should alk to her and se eif you can get her to understand how important it is to you guys for your son to have his fathers name....even if it is his middle name!
Quoting MNoelWilke:“ So my husbands little sister is due in 2 weeks, and she just announced to everybody (the day we found ... [snip!] ... (since we will be calling him Xander) but we have a few "strange" names there because they have some kind of meaning to us....”I'm a dork, I just realized that I suggested to you James Alexander.....not realizing that you said your sister in law is using it.....I don't know what I was thinking. But it is very cute. And if she absolutely will not budge on naming her son James, even though they have the same name, your son will be going by Xander, but yet his father's name will still be part of him. I think if you should use it no matter what....but I know exactly how you feel. When I was pregnant with my first son, before we knew he was a boy, I was dead set on a girl and we thought out a name, and of course told everyone. Well as soon as we found out we were having a boy, my cousin found out she was having a girl, and stole my name. I was so upset, it's been 6 years, and I'm still a little peeved that she did that, but there's nothing I can do about it now I guess. I have a few new names picked out now, and nobody gets to know until I'm pregnant, and I know I'm having a girl!!!
