To work or not to work?

posted 21st Aug
The first 4 months of my pregnancy were extremely rough...i was very sick and in and out of the hospital.
I had a slight scare at about 26 weeks and thought i may possibly have ruptured my membranes. After all was said and done...everything was okay and the babe was still in her watery cocoon.
The rest of my pregnancy has been going well...but now i am 33 weeks and EXHAUSTED 24/7!!! I have been working throughout most of the pregnancy (minus through my problems in the beginning), but i am starting to have a hard time even walking from room to room.
I am healthy but i was wondering.....how do i know when to stop working? Will i just know...or should i give myself a little bit of time before she is born to just relax and kick my feet up?
What did everyone else do??

I know I am just playing it by ear. I am still working full time, and plan on continuing to do so, until A. My water breaks LOL or B. I just can't take it anymore. So, I don't think there is a "certain time" to go on leave. I say whatever time is right for you.

I am working at a convinient store haha. I quit the more stressful job and kept this job to keep me busy for a while. I am on my feet for long hours even though it is not the most difficult job...
By the end of the night my feet are soooooo swollen!!

That is another thing i was thinking.
I have a lot done now...but like i said i have to fight with myself just to get up and move from room to room so i may need a little extra "mommy time"

I stopped working at 36 weeks...I couldn't take it anymore because I was exhausted 24/7 and I knew I was ready to go on maternity leave. I also had a lot of complications during the first 4 months of my pregnancy (tons of bleeding and membranes breaking and I don't ever want to go through that ever again) so that also took it's toll on me and my work load was pretty much reduced to paper work (I worked for a day care program, so a lot of activity was required out of me before I was preggers). I'm really glad that I left at 36 weeks because it did give me time to relax and to prepare myself for labor and delivery. You're about to go through a major change in your life, so take advantage of this time and relax and enjoy your last few weeks of peace
