researching..... new to site

i am here on this site to research for my college class course in law and was wondering from you girls if you could help! I am trying to figure out each and every state that requires drug screening for newborns when the are born. I am hoping to get some towns in there too. I am mostly looking for them in my area too which would happen to be Rochester, NH. It would be very great if you post the link to it also. This is just research. Thank you ladies!

I live in Canada... So I can't help you, at all.
But you know it sounds like your just trying to find out if they are going to screen your baby, right?  

Utah does not require mandatory drug screenings, only screened if there is a concern that there may be drugs in the system

I know here in California or at least in my town it's not mandatory. They asked me if I had a history of drug use and I answered yes so they asked if I would mind if they tested Jae and I told them that they better test her.

I don't think what you find here will be entirely accurate. Maybe you should google it? I'm sure there is a list of the states that have that requirement.

I do not remember then screening my son, but they could have without me knowing or remembering.

No, and I meant it as in it just sounded like it..... I don't know you, so it wouldn't affect me either way.  

As for MY experience, In Canada.... There was no such thing being done, unless they didn't tell me.... But I have heard of it being done, so it makes me think that they if they have a reason for it...

ive tried googling it and everything. I really can't find much on it at all. I would expect this to be easy to research but as it seems, I have come up very short!

It's not your state....sorry...

But here in washington I think they automatically do it....

My Mom, (may she rest in peace) smoked marijuana (throughout her pregnancy) and to relieve her labor pains when she was in labor with my sister - and four weeks later was surprised to find a notice in the mail from the hospital wanting to offer her help with her drug habit.... I don't know if it was her or my sister that was tested, but I do know for a fact that her doc had no idea she was doing that....

And, that was in the late 80's. I'm not sure if it's different now though.

(Just so you all know, I may wear tye-dye, but I don't think babies should have narcotics... )

thats odd. I would think they would take a baby away for that! Wouldnt they?

wow i was really hoping for some pages that listed something about this stuff. I cant seem to find anything. Although im not that good at research either. Pretty slow here too i guess!
