I think its a joyous occasion, but to each their own I have no problem celebrating my friends pregnancy each and everyone of them because if the babies are close enough you dont need a bunch of stuff but everyone could always use more bottles and binkies.... And its not expecting anything, its a party. Invitation for a joyous celebration of life. And if your their real friend you wont have a problem spending 20 bucks, to buy mommie something to make her feel nice. Its not about greed its about celebrating life, and welcoming that new baby into the world...

I think it depends on how many years its been between kids.
I have a 5 year old so I am having one. Mainly because my BF doesnt want to use the baby stuff I did have left because my ex-husband and I picked it out together when Maddy was born. IMO, if your child is 2 years old or youngeryou dont have any business have anyone. I dont know how old the OP's kid is.
Yes, I hope Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee come to my baby shower, I am jealous.

now that i guess makes more sense, with your kids being farther apart. i was always under the impression that a baby shower was just a first kid thing, i always thought it was shitty to not have one for 2, 3....so on, but i figured thats just how it went.

No I do think its shitty if your kids are still babies/toddlers.
Unless your lost your stuff in a fire or something.
If someone wants to throw you a party so be it.
However if you are recruiting people to help you thats kind of tacky.

I already have everything we need, so I told everyone not to buy me anything for him. My family will still get him stuff, but I can't ask them to throw me another shower.

haha i guess i just have alot of family who loves me and wants to spoil me my mother had 3 baby showers for each of her kids and so did my grandmother soo..im having one for all my babies.

yeah my mom same thing. But now if I was like on baby 5 all ya know a pregnancy apart she would put her foot down.. thats a bit much, but if they are a few years apart hell yeah whoop it up!!
