Heartburn?

posted 21st Aug
Sorry im being a post whore right now.
Im having a burning sensation in my throat and it is making me cough... it hurts a little...

I ate a hot dog with mustard and drank sweet tea... is this heartburn?

Can you get heartburn from a hot dog? I've never had it. Thanks in advance

Ugh that happens to me. I think its called acid reflux? Try drinking a little bit of milk or some water and see if it goes away.

You can get heartburn from just about anything. Just try some tums, rolaids, or my fav mylanta. It helps quite a bit.

Um.... I've been told to not eat hot dogs when pregnant... Something about nitrates....

Sounds like heartburn though... You can eat tums - they have calcium!

If no tums are to be found, milk is always a really good "natural" antacid!

i've gotten what feels like heartburn from drinking just water or simply lying down at night to go to bed.
Drink a glass of milk or take some tums

Yes, It's heartburn, lol.
Honestly, I swear, you can get heartburn from ANYTHING!!!! When I was pregnant the only thing that gave me heartburn was grapes... GRAPES?! Who has ever heard of that??? (and sometimes peaches, lol)
It might not have been from the hot dog, but the sugar in the sweet tea...

Tums work amazing! :O)

same reason they tell you to avoid cold luncheon meats and soft cheeses instead of hard cheeses.. due to a bacteria found in uncooked meats and unpasteurized milk..

but you can still eat hot dogs and luncheon meats and so on safely as long as they are properly heated to steaming or 160 degrees..

i don't know what i'd do without my hotdogs and mustard.. mmmmmm

I got heartburn... which for me .... like you.. is really throat burn.. when all I had eaten was a tiny roll... for breakfast... that's ALL I'd eaten so far... that really sucked!

EVERYTHING gives me heartburn lately!!! popsicles, plain turkey sandwiches, pb&j... and it's weird, i only get heartburn at night when i'm trying to sleep. the doctor says to sleep with my head elevated so the acids stay in my stomach instead of flying up my esophagus (sp?). but then, he also wants me raising my ankles above my heart to reduce the massive swelling.

i eat about 3 or 4 tums at night right before bed. my dad says to brush your teeth right after eating them... they're known to cause cavities.
