how do ya'll feel about

how do ya'll feel about little boys be named after their dads? My hubby was so dead set on it, and i really dont mind itis his first son. Anyways in my hubbys family they all go by their middle namesanyways so even though his first name sucks he wont ever be called it.His name is gonna be Heron (it's said like Erin)Alonso Sanchez, but we call him Alonso.H.Alonso is how he can put it when he gose to school.Do ya'll think it's to old timey the name Alonso?

This sounds horrible but this is my experience with Jr's.
Every Jr. in my BF's family has died in some sort of tragic accident (train wreck, hit by a drunk driver, etc.)
I know its not about the name, but I cant bring myself to name my son a Jr.
If the baby is a boy, he will have my BF's first name as a middle name though.

I love family names and wish my husband would have carried on with the tradition. I think it sound good!!

Personally, I think it makes more sense in their first born having the middle name be the fathers name, but that's just me. I like Alonso though. It's different, easy to say and easy to spell.

Alonso won't have 90 other Alonso's in his class!!!  

My husband was the third. I refused to name my son the fourth. We keep getting bills mixed up with his dad, and medical records...yikes it has caused more trouble than it is worth! I have no problem giving the kid his dad's name as a second one or something, but the first just gets confusing.

I dont like it, i think the baby should have it's own name. IMO

The name Alonso is really cool, in my opinion. And, well.. I think that's an excellent way to incorporate both having your husband's name, but also having something not quite junior junior, y'know?

i think having a jr is cute. my bf is a thrid n his name is bernard lol. his pap and dad r still alive and its so confusing when were all together. plus i didnt wanna name my son bernie . we named out son branden john ( wich is his dads middle name also) they havethe same initials. i think thats cute cause its up to u 2. if u dnt want to name him after his dad then talk to him about it.

he won't quiet be a Jr. since his dads name is Heron Leon and he gonna be Heron Alonso and i refuse to put Jr on the birth certificate! i hate when kids get called Jr. thats why he has a different middle name and that what hewill be called by Alonso
