UltraScreen

Im going for a "ultrascreen" in about a week. Its been 6 years since Ive had a baby, Whats is this and why would my doctor ask me to do this?( Is this a standard now?)

Do you mean an Ultrasound? I have never heard of an ultrascreen.

If it's a blood test you're taking....

They usually do it to test for birth defects.

They test for Down Syndrome, Trisomy(sp?) 18, and Spina Bifida.

I haven't really heard of docs not doing that test..... It's also referred to as the Triple screen, or Quad screen..

Yea I know, Its called a"UltraScreen". I think Its is to take a really good look at the baby and make sure all is okay, But really I have No idea.

ultrasound...yea they are very routine now. I had 5 with my daughter and im only 17 weeks with this one and already had 3....enjoy them ; )

Yea I think we are going in the right direction! They do bloodwork and a sono (I Think). but 6 -7 years sago when I had my son it was only bloodwork.?? But this I have to at John Hopkins ( hospital). And they didnt call it a "UltraScreen" then....

In different parts of the country, it's different things I guess...

My doc calls it a Quad Screen, the what to expect book calls it a Triple Screen....

I had a quad screen with Alina, and my next one next week. I HATE NEEDLES
