re: WIC formula

Its usually isnt enough for the whole month...id say expect to buy 2 to 4 extra cans a month...depending on how much your baby eats...

You get 10 cans a month of Goodstart (the orange can). I already asked because I wanted to buy a can so that I didn't have to change formula. Call them after you have the baby even from the hospital or right when you get home to let them know you had the baby and they will schedule you an appointment to come in with the baby (usually a few days after you get home). Oh and make sure you have the form they gave you for your dr to fill out with you at the hospital.

I don't remember how much I got can wise. I used the liquid that you mixed with water so I got more cans, but it equaled to be about what I would've gotten powder wise. I'm sure each state varies and it may be somewhat based on income. I know in the beginning I had a lot to spare, then I didn't have enough (the extras from the beginning came in handy) and then in the end I had too much.

I think with the concentrate I was getting 31 cans of it a month for my second child. And it supposdly equaled the same as the powder.

Camaya gets 9 cans of Similac Advanceper month... we always have extra left over.

BUT, thats probably because shes only eating 3 oz every 3 hours....   i'll be glad when she can keep down more... but for now she has bad reflux and gas issues.

Damn, and I thought the $13 was bad lol!! I cant believe som of you guys' lasted the whole month orlonger when your babies were newborns!! With both of mine The 9 cans lasted like 2 1/2 weeks I think!!! I always had to buy a few towards the end of the month! My daughter is 11 months and now it lasts over a month.
