Putting them to sleep?

My daughter usually falls asleep as I'm burping her after her feedings, she's a month old tomorrow. My question is...when did you guys start putting your little ones in their cribs when they were drowsy but not asleep? I'm trying not to let her be 100% asleep when I put her in her crib & usually I can hear her on her monitor for the first 5-10 minutes wiggling around & making some noise and then I can tell she fell asleep. Other times I lay her in her crib and 5 minutes later she's screaming because she wants to fall asleep on my chest.


So, when did you guys consistantly put them to sleep while still awake/drowsy? How did you start it out?

Hopefully soon! My son is 3 months old and I still have to put him to sleep. lol.

My daughter is 5 months old this weekend, and I don't make her put herself to sleep yet, and I don't think I will. She either falls asleep while having her nighttime nursing, or I cuddle, rock or sing her to sleep if she is having a hard time of it.

I love it when he eats himself to sleep! it's so easy. lol. I'm not sure when i'll let him put himself to sleep, maybe in a few months. we'll see.

j is 1 and still refuses to sleep in his cot awake, he has to have a bottle then bed, but my health visitor says this is ok

Zoe was about 6 weeeks when I started putting her in bed while she was awake. she would wiggle and grunt for like 10 mins. and then fall asleep. Sometimes she would fuss/cry a little but never for more than a few mins. And Now I put her in bed and she almost immediatley falls asleep, even for naps(she also does this if were not at home and has to sleep somewhere..car seat, play pen, etc.)

From day one I put my little one to sleep when he was still awake. He did sleep with me until he was three months old but I always put him into bed with me when he was still awake. So now he isalmost 4months old and I put him into his crib still awake and he takes about 3-20 minutes to fall asleep at night but he never cries.   Sleeps from 8:30pm-7am in the morning and when he wakes up in the morning he just plays with his hands until I come get him never cries.
