VENT ABOUT DR

so today was my 17 week appt..my second one so far... first off we only heard the heartbeat for like 5 seconds bc the baby was moving around and she "didnt feel like chasing after him/her" so we literally heard 5-10 seconds of it....and this was the first time we even had the opportunity to hear it bc at my last appt she didnt do it! so then she proceeds to ask me "did u schedule ur 20 week ultrasound and blood tests" (the test that checks for all kinds of diseases the baby may have like down syndrome and stuff) and i was like "uhh no u did not inform me that i needed to schedule that" bc she didnt mention ANYTHING to me at my last appt...like im supposed to know to do this on my own...so then she says that the blood test is optional and asks if we wanted to do it...and instead of letting me and my husband talk about it she just sits there and stares at us...i felt soo uncomfortable! i didnt want to take the test bc even if the baby has something wrong with it its not like it would make a difference! its not like we would give away or get rid of our baby if it had any of the diseases....then she said "itll only take a minute" and opens her eyes really big like "well are you gonna make a decision" HOW FREAKIN RUDE!! she expects us to decide right then without even leaving us alone to discuss it!! i just took the freakin bloodtest bc she was pressureing us to! im so mad right now i am requesting a different DR for my next visit...she is so unprofessional its rediculous

Good idea with changing now.

I had two extremely incompetent doctors at the same office and I got so fed up I finally switched offices all together. Good luck with the new one :]

Oh yeah I'd definetly be finding a new doctor and probably a whole new practice... I can't stand doctors like that! Especially OB's, they are supposed to be caring & informative. That is one of the most important people in your life right now and she's treating you like that? No. Not when you're paying mega bucks & this is your pregnancy.

DEFINITLY get a different doctor. Ugh, some people are sooo rude. And to expect you to schedule all of these things? That is so stupid. God, I am sorry it didn't go well. Hopefully you will have better luck with your next doc!!!

thanks =] luckily for me being in the military means u dont get a specific DR...u just go to whoever you want lmao..u can go to a different DR each time!! i dont even think these are the DR's that deliver the baby!! how weird?? im gonna walk into labor and delivery to a stranger who will be delivering my baby...but at this point a stranger is better than this dr!!
