Epidural- and head aches?

posted 21st Aug
My daughter is 3 weeks old and when i had her i got the epidural and i know when your in the hospital they say it can cause head aches after. Do they mean like right after you have her or could it be that im getting the head aches 3 weeks later? Sense last night i have been getting a horrible head ache and it could be lack of sleep but i have been getting pretty good sleep and didnt think that was it. What do you ladies think? I was going to call my doctor if they got worse or kept happening i just wanted to know your opinions.

Generally, it's when you are in the hospital and right after within the next few days. I don't think that 3 weeks later it would be an issue, but if you want you should call your doctor just to be sure. Try to take some Tylenol and lay down. Hope all is going well with you!

I should have looked at this thread first, I just posted a question on the exact same thing. I've had really bad headaches since having my baby and officially it's been 3 wks PP today. I had an epidural and a spinal tap so I had been wondering if my headaches could be a result of either one or both.

If you are still getting headaches it could mean they did it wrong and there could still be a hole in your spinal fluid sack thats not healed up. This is rare but constant headaches that late after the birth can be a sign so its best just to have a chat to your Dr
