Mommies who have twins!

posted 21st Aug
Hey mommas! This is a question of which items you really found useful to have and what items you thought you would need and you ended up never really using. (swings, bouncers, highchairs, etc..) I know certain things I will need two of, but what things can I get by with only one. Also what stroller/strollers have you found to be the best? I've heard that the side by side ones are a problem when it comes to doorways....which type/brand have you found to be the most practical? There are so many things I already have from my first daughter, so I was hoping to narrow it down to what I would really need. All suggestions from you mommies would be sooo helpful to me in this time of planning. Thanks so much!

also a bassinet is also usedful.. the first few days you have them home you will want to keep them in your room. i have my baby's nursery ready but he sleeps in a bassinet until he is old enough to sleep through the night.. i want to keep him close to me. my baby was born premature and just in case i hear that something is wrong with him and can check him right away..

I had 2 of the bouncer chairs, and 2 mobiles. But only one jumper and one swing. I put one in each, and switched them if they got fussy. Worked every time, and it really helped me get the chores done every day!!

I think it all depends on how you plan on doing things. I know for a fact that if you ask amandamommy and I we will say totally different things. I had one swing one bouncy (hardly ever used either) held both babies for every feeding so the only time i used them was right after feedings to keep them proped due to having reflux. Other then that i would say i never used either of them. I had one jumperoo and one exasauser used them both from about 5-8 months but they have refused to be in them since then. I have two cribs but they cosleep so maybe someday they will want to sleep alone but who knows. No boppy or anything but if you intend to breastfeed you will want one. I didn't have a bassinet or anything as they used their carseats for sleeping once again due to reflux, but then i just put one of the cribs in my room for sleeping. I had two pack-n-plays one for upstaris and one for down. Inow use one for inside and one for outside play.I'm sure i'm not that big of a help. Ijust learned from my first that most of the big ticket items were a waste for us so i saved my moneythis time around for diapers and formula.

I did use my bouncy seats constantly, however I never used them for feeding. I would put one in a bouncy while I held and fed the other. That way, if the one in the seat started fussing, I could bounce her with my foot. It worked wonders! Mine also had reflux, and ended up sleeping/ sitting in the seats after they ate. I never thought of putting them in their carseats, but that would have worked too. I did have two swings but my girls hated being in them.
