Cutting the cord

so I was thinking back when I was in labor and one thing that really bothered me was when my fiance didnt cut our daughter's cord. His reason was because he was scared and wimped out. I was so angry and a little hurt. I did tell him about it andwhen a couple of my friends had their babies and Iwould ask them if their man cut the cord, they would say yes and I would taunt him about it. He felt bad and promised to do it for our second child butI dont believe him. It was so important for me. I really wished I did it butI was in shock and outof it at the time. Has this happened to any of you ladies?

I dont want it to happen to me but i think it will ... my b/f says he will do it but when the time comes i think he will do the same as yours did. Maybe he knows he should have done it and will do it when the baby is born

It almost did.. lol Travis said he got really light headed right before they had him cut it. He knew I really wanted him to do it though so he did.

Daniel gets woozy, he's already said he doesn't want to cut the cord... and I'm learning to be okay with that. I hope you get what you want though, I do understand how important it is to you.

Sorry mama...Guys can be babies sometimes lol. My BF wasnt going to cut the cord but I kept bugging him about it like almost every day so when it came down to the last minute he said yeah I'll cut it...

yeah I hope yours does, it still bothers me but hopefully he will do it if he doesn't I will do it myself. Even the doctors gave him a look when he said no. It was embarrassing. He thinks it's bad and it hurts them, I told him no it doesnt, it's just attached to their belly button. It's supposed to be cut, so that they can breathe on their own. He's weird sometimes. But yet he talks about wanting to circumsize his son if we have a boy.

My doctor didn't even offer to let my b/f   is it something we should have requested?

My doctor got things done! There was no time for my husband to cut it! lol........

really?? that's weird! doctors are supposed to let the fathers cut the cord. if you have another baby make sure to request it before you start pushing. i cant believe the doctor didnt offer.

my husband cut the cord. he was excited to do it. he wanted to eat the placenta.....so gross

I made sure to let them know ahead of time because I really wanted my fiance to do it.

UGH I am SO fucking pissed about this still.

My bff (a guy) cut my cord, probably cause the dr thought he was the dad (hes NOT)

My mom was supposed to! I even asked her, and we made a big deal about it, months before.
