Is this wierd?

My daughter is 14 months old, and shes been crawling and standing up by couches amd things since she was 8 months old. And she walks while holding on to things, but refuses to walk without any help. I was just wondering how old your babies were when they started full on walking without holding on to anything?? And when should I start worrying that my daughter still hasnt walked?

My daughter turned 14 months on the 14th and still only takes a few steps. My first was also a late walker so I really don't worry about it. My first didn't walk till 15 months.

My girls walked at 10 and 12 months but my best friends daughter was the same way as yours is. Was cruising at 9 months but didn't start walking on her own til more then 15 months. I guess she just didn't want or care to. But she didn't have any problems.

My baby brother (he is a year and a half now) was a late bloomer too when it came to walking. He didn't start walking on his own till he was 16 months old.

It sounds like she is just scared more than not being able to. My daughter was 9 1/2 months walking by herself, but that is really early and she is a daredevil and into everything. The average is around 1 year. My boss was saying her son didn't walk until he was 16 months and he was a star athlete in high school and perfectly fine!

Josiah didnt want to let go eather. But he had his 1st b-day party back home with all our family and he was walking like crazy!

Have you tryed putting something in her hands when she is walking to make her think that its your fingers?
We used markers for awhile and that helped.
She will walk with out anything soon!! She is already walking really..Im sure your not helping much!

try getting a helium filled balloon and handing her the string it will make her feel like someone is holding her hand and it should help her walk i did it with both of mine and it works

My daughter was an early bloomer i guess cause she was walking good by the time she was 10 months old...She kind of skipped the crawling phase though..didn't like to crawl one bit...only tried to stand up.

mine was fairly early but lots of my friends kids took their time. Don't stress, all these developmental things average out in the long run.
