Bleeding STILL at 5 weeks PP??

So I'm STILL bleeding, and it's been 5 weeks since my daughter was born....Doesn't this seem long? It was really heavy at first obviously, and then it got really light so I just had to wear the light panty liners...but last week it started to be really heavy again, so I had to go back to the pads. (which I hate, pads just gross me out   )
I didn't even ask the nurses about myself when I was leaving the hospital, I was only asking questions about the baby and didn't even think of myself, typical Mom huh??  
Anyway, has anyone else bled this long? I did start jogging around 4 weeks PP, which I know the nurses said not to work out until 6 weeks...but I felt fine, do you think that has something to do with it??? I see my doctor next Wednesday, so that's reassuring....but I was just curious if anyone else experienced this.

Oh, and side note....Did anyone else freak out to have sex for the first time since their baby was born??? I'm totally freaking out, I feel like it's going to hurt or something...and I swear my Fiance is like counting down the minutes until the 6 weeks is up and we can have sex again lol....EEEKKKK!

I bled, till it almost stopped., 6 weeks pp then BAM! got my period! I bled a total of 7 weeks! my butt was RAW from those stupid 7th grader pads!!!

The running could be doing it. I didn't have sex until 10 weeks PP. And yes it hurt! I also had healing complications though.

Did you stop bleeding for a little bit? Could it be your first PP period? But I bled up until 2 days before my 6 week checkup!

its normal dont worry, i bled for 7 weeks with alex and 8 with aayla, everyone is different just make sure you take your vitamins so you dont deplete your body, drink lots of water too, that will help with it as well, good luck, i hope you feel better soon!

Oh my gosh don't those stupid pads suck??? Ugh I swear I change mine like every hour cuz they gross me out so bad lol

exact same here!

It's normal to bleed 4-6 weeks pp..some women longer. I bleed for 6 weeks (VERY light) and had a 2 days break than BAM my first pp period.
I had sex about 2 weeks pp. It didn't hurt at ALL and I had a c-section (so I thought it'd hurt MORE)

That's what I thought it might be, cuz it did like pretty much stop a couple weeks ago...but then the following week it came back super heavy, I was like what the hell!

It very well could be because when you get your first PP period I heard it's weird. It may be a few days of heavy bleeding, heavy bleeding for your normal length, or light. But that's just what I've heard lol. I am breastfeeding so I probably won't get a period for a while.

Oh god, I hope I'm not getting it already, I wanted to be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it until like 8 months later lol...I've been strictly breast feeding too! Ugh what the hell, ohhh well. Its really just annoying than anything, and I'm not bleeding like super bad where it's flowing out ofme lol

Haha, that is weird! Hmmm, I have no idea then mama! Just monitor it. If it seems like it's not going away talk to your OB and they can check you out.

are you taking any birth control? when my daughter was born i started taking bc and i almost bled to death (not to scare you) but the OB told me that i had to stop taking it immediately or i would have to have a blood transfusion because i was bleeding so bad... i got weak and almost passed out several times....

I almost 5 weeks pp. And they same thing is happening to me. It was really heavy and then about it week ago I stopped for a few days. Now its heavy again. I idk. But it gets really annoying that I can't wear a tampon. I hate pads.
