Please I need help for ideas potty training my 3 year old so

My Son has just turned 3 and Ihave been trying to potty train him for the past 12 months but we still have got nowhere. He starts nursery school in September and I was hoping he would be out of nappies by then but he just doesn't seem interested. I also have an 8 week old baby boy and i'm finding it difficult to find time to concentrate on potty training at the moment. Any help, advice or ideas will be appreciated thank you.

My son got excited when I sent him in with my husband to go pottie. When he saw Daddy do it, he wanted to too! I also put froot loop cereal in the pottie and told him to aim. He thought it was a game and loved it! He is 5 years old and has been pottie trained since 2 and still remembers the game!

Well, my son was the same age when he got potty trained and when he first started going on his own, he would only pee. He still went poopie in his pull up. But I noticed when he would go pee, he would go standing up. I found out from my mom that whenever he was at thier house (which was everyday) he would go in the bathroom with my dad, so that is where he learned to go pee-pee standing up. So I decided that since he learned to go pee by watching my dad, I would have my husband take him in the bathroom with him while he was taking a poop. And after about a week of that, my son started going to poop too.

So I would say have him watch your SO or someone that is close to you all that is a male go to the bathroom and maybe he will catch on to that.

I wanted him to be trained before his cousins. For a few weeks before we started we made a big funny deal about passing gas, when he did it I laughed like it was the most hilarious thing he had ever done. Once he thought it was a game we did the 'aiming for the Cheerios,' bits of tissue paper, even putting bubble bath in the toilet to make more bubbles when he peed. I also but blue food coloring in the toilet and told him that if he peed it would turn blue. I told him that if he passed gas on the potty it would make a funny noise, thats how he got used to pooping on the toilet. He was trained in four days-before his cousins!

my nephew came over about a month ago and was peeing standing up so my son seen him do it and ever sinse then he goes standing up, he has a lil step stool and gets all excited for the bubbles (when the pee hits the water) he goes poop and after every poop he says bye bye pooh pooh and flushes it then I got him the kandoo bright green soap and kandoo wet wipes and he gets all excited when hes done he gets to wipe and flush (i wipe after hes done to get it all).. He will be 3 in november but hes not potty trained to go out of the house or over night yet.. so maybe try the cherrios or have a guy show him standing up they also sell peddler type things for the toliot at babies r us...
