Preterm labor for Me :(

Just thought id let you guys know the update on my preterm labor.

Long story ill try to keep it short.
8.8.08
Went into labor at school having contractions ever 5 mins for an hour and a half . Went to hospital got hooked up on all of the monitors contractions now every 3 mins. Got two shuts of trebutilin (sp?) slowed contractions down but didnt stop em. cervix checked .5 cm and 60% effaced babys head -3. was released after 4 hrs.

8.10.08
went into labor again at BF's house. 5 mins apart was re admitted into the hospital and hooked up to all the monitors again. Cervix checked was 50 % effaced 1.5 cm dilated babys head +1. later that day given a steroid shot to speed up babys lung development. Put me on an IV.

given steroid shot number 2 24 hrs later. trebutilin shots givin again didnt stop contractions.
8.12.08
Still having contractions, drs put me on magnesium highest dosage at a 3
8.13.08
magnesium level too high lowered dosage to a 2.
8.14.08
magnesium wasnt working so they took me off and said they were gonna let baby come if he wanted to.
8.15.08
cervix checked hadnt changed at all. still having contractions but released home on modified bedrest.

Now its just a waiting game. he could come any time he wants and they arent gonna stop it.

Aww   im sorry!! think positivly!! attitude is half the battel in alot of medical things....keep your chin up...how many wks are you??

34 weeks 5 days.
im glad he decided to stay in there longer i dont want him in NICU

Try not to worry hun. At 35 weeks your baby will be fine. Hopefully you can make it another week or so and bring baby straight home with you. I was in labor from 20 weeks so i sympathise with the mag, it is a truely horrible thing to experience.

Oh my goodness yes it is. I hated the magnesium! It made me feel so horrible i think i broke down in there every night because i wanted to go home

I know, i cried every day too. It made me so nauseous, and the fact i wasnt allowed out of bed to puke in private made me really anxious. I could barely move it made me so weak, it was just awful. I hope to God i never have to go through that again, i think im still kinda traumatised from it all!!

At least you are home and baby will be ok if he/she comes now. Hopefully now you can relax the contractions wont come back! there was a mum on the preemie forum who had a similar thing at 23 weeks - she is now full term and needs to get induced!!

Yes my mom was saying that she thinks im gonna be late now. I hope not. But as long as hes okay im happy. Yes i couldnt even eat for two days i was so hungry but i had no appetite whatsoever it was horrible. i cried because i couldnt pick myself up to move because my back was hurting. I pray i never have to go through that again.

wow..same things happened to me =[[ seems like everyones babies want to come this month! lol
